What it is
The Selkirk Luxx Control Air Invikta is Selkirk's premium control flagship and the most-recommended top-tier control paddle of 2025-2026. 16mm Florek carbon fiber core (Selkirk's proprietary construction, not standard polymer honeycomb), Hyper Grit raw carbon face, elongated shape, Air-foam edge, 8.0 oz, 4 1/4" grip. Score of 78 with confidence "High", Selkirk's QC and warranty network make this one of the most predictable premium purchases on the list.
How it plays
The Luxx Invikta's whole identity is precision. Control scored 9.2 in the breakdown, elite tier, and unlike most control paddles, it doesn't sacrifice spin to get there (8.3). The Hyper Grit carbon face is Selkirk's answer to the raw-carbon-fades-fast problem; the texture holds bite for longer than standard T700 surfaces.
The Air-foam edge gives the elongated shape an unusually large sweet spot, players coming from a hybrid widebody report less of a drop-off in forgiveness than they expected when switching to an elongated paddle. Power is rated 6.6, which is genuinely modest. Owners who switch in from a Vanguard Power Air report they can still hit drives, but it requires more swing and the paddle isn't going to do the work for them.
A recurring community pattern: players switching from a CRBN TruFoam Barrage describe the Luxx as the upgrade for kitchen feel and control retention. Selkirk's brand reputation in premium tier holds up, this is not a marketing-only flagship.
Build and specs
Selkirk's warranty network is the most reliable in the industry. Florek carbon fiber core is proprietary and durable. The Air-foam edge construction is a real feature, not a gimmick, owners report consistent sweet spot performance after 12+ months of heavy play. The paddle is heavier in hand than the 8.0 oz spec suggests, partly because of the elongated shape distributing weight further from the throat.
Where it fits
Advanced players who play kitchen-heavy strategy. Sub-3.5 players won't extract the upgrade, the Prism Flash or SLK Halo Control do most of what the Luxx does for less than half the price. If you've identified yourself as a touch player and want one paddle to last 2+ years, this is the premium choice.
Note on Selkirk variants: the Luxx Control Air comes with and without Hyper Grit (often called "infinigrit" in older listings). The Hyper Grit version is the one currently sold and the one community sentiment is positive on. Confirm the listing if buying secondhand.
HK reality
Amazon-listed and ships to HK. HK availability scored 6, slightly better than CRBN direct-only options. At HK$2,100-2,400 landed it is the most expensive paddle on this batch, and overkill for many buyers. Cross-shop against the Selkirk SLK Halo Control (HK$880-1,080) before pulling the trigger; the upgrade is real but the diminishing returns are also real.
Bottom line
The premium control paddle to buy in 2026 if budget allows. Elite touch numbers, solid spin, Selkirk's warranty backing, and a sweet spot that punches above the elongated shape's reputation. Overkill for casual play; right answer for serious tournament-level control players.

Should I use a paddle cleaning block on LUXX? I have a Luxx Control Air Invikta, and I know the surface is supposed to be made out of 'Florek' Carbon Fiber, but I wasn't sure what that meant. What's the difference between Florek and Raw carbon fiber?
Same journey as OP. Actually settled onto the luxx air invikta and found I can still hit power shots.
Current: CRBN TruFoam Genesis 2; love it! Previous: Selkirk Luxx Control Air Invikta (super control based) and CRBN 1x Power Series (used for 2 years with lots of success). Next: Selkirk Boomstik or J2NF.
I just bought a Selkirk luxx control air invikta paddle the one without infinigrit almost 2 weeks ago but haven't used it yet. Before I bought it I did a bunch of research and looking at reviews from multiple sources and none of them seemed to be negative reviews so what do people hate about them.
Buying it in Hong Kong
Imports to Hong Kong via Amazon. Expect 1–3 weeks shipping. Total landed cost usually HK$2,100–2,400 including duty.
