What it is

The Pickleball Apes Proline Energy S is the brand's all-court flagship and the corpus-endorsed pick from a brand most readers won't recognize. Hybrid shape, polymer honeycomb core, US$129.99 list. Score of 77 with confidence "High", confidence is high because community sentiment is consistent across multiple sources, even if the brand is low-awareness in mainstream pickleball discussion.

The Energy S replaces the discontinued Pulse S as the brand's current site representation. If you saw the Pulse S recommended anywhere, the Energy S is the modern equivalent.

How it plays

Owners describe the Proline Energy S as "more plush and muted" despite being thermoformed, an unusual combination. Most thermoformed paddles sacrifice some kitchen feel for power; the Energy S keeps the touch. That's the consistent community read.

The community signal is small but positive. Comments describe it as "amazing" and "great price now" during sale periods. Refurbished units have been available around US$80, which is the price tier where this paddle becomes a clear value pick. At full US$129 it's competing with better-known brands like Vatic V-Sol Pro (US$109) where the brand premium goes the wrong direction.

The head-to-head data point worth tracking: one community thread noted the Proline Energy S has lower average ratings than the Vatic Prism Flash, despite being more expensive. That gap is what holds the score at 77 instead of higher.

Build and specs

Hybrid shape, polymer honeycomb core. Spec sheet is thinner than the V-Sol Pro or Vapor Power entries, reflecting that Pickleball Apes is a smaller brand without the same review coverage. Build quality reports are positive but not extensively documented.

One notable angle: Pickleball Apes is one of the few paddle brands offering a year warranty. That's rare in pickleball, where 90-day or no-warranty policies dominate. The HK eligibility on the warranty needs verification before relying on it, confirm with the brand before purchasing if warranty matters to you.

Where it fits

Value-conscious intermediate player who's already cross-shopped the obvious picks (Vatic, 11SIX24, Friday) and wants something different. The corpus endorsement is real but small. If you're curious about a less-mainstream brand and the refurbished pricing is available, the value math becomes more interesting.

HK reality

Amazon-listed and ships to HK. HK availability scored 5, average for this batch. Pricing at HK$910-1,100 landed sits awkwardly between the value tier (Prism Flash at HK$700) and the modern foam tier (V-Sol Power at HK$780-940). Wait for a sale or refurbished unit before paying full price.

Bottom line

Legitimate value pick from a low-awareness brand, with positive but limited community sentiment. The year warranty is a real selling point if HK eligibility is confirmed. At sale prices it's competitive with anything; at MSRP, the Vatic V-Sol Pro takes its place as the default pick.

I really enjoyed my Proline Energy S. They have some new paddles coming out soon.

This is great, thank you! I was looking at the Proline Energy S and despite being thermoformed, all of the reviews I've seen say it is more plush and muted. I might have to give this a shot!

My Juciao T700 Kevlar paddle is almost exactly like my Apes Proline S, I ordered it as a back up for the Apes. It's a great paddle that runs about $45 with cover.

Last Christmas I was able to pick up a refurbished Pickleball Apes Proline Energy S for $80.

I've been eyeing the Pickleball Apes Energy line S. Has more power than gen 1 paddles but not so mich that you lose any control. Plus it looks cool. It's like $152 shipped after discount
