What it is
Selkirk's SLK Neo Graphite Set of 2, two adult-sized graphite-faced paddles, three Selkirk Hybrid+ balls, and a Selkirk sling bag, around US$90. Worth understanding upfront: these are not actually kids paddles. They're adult paddles bundled as a starter set, and they happen to work for older kids who've outgrown junior gear.
Age fit
For kids 10+ who are rallying consistently and want a real paddle the whole family can share. Under 10, these are too long and too heavy, the swing weight will tire small arms and ruin technique before it forms. A 7-year-old will struggle. A 12-year-old will be fine. If you've got mixed ages, buy the JOOLA Essentials Dash Set instead and save HK$200; if you've got a 10-14 year old graduating from a junior paddle into something they can grow with, this is a legitimate step-up.
Build quality
This is the standout. Graphite faces are real graphite, not the painted composite you see at this price tier. The polymer composite core handles abuse well. Selkirk's manufacturing QC is mature, these will survive years of cabinet-knocking, edge-guard scuffs, and outdoor play. The 9/10 durability rating in the spec sheet is honest. Three balls and a sling bag bundled is more usable accessory kit than most sets bother with.
Safety is fine, no sharp edge guards, no chemical-smell finishes. Standard adult paddle dimensions, so chin-strike risk for very young kids exists, which is another reason to keep these for 10+.
Bottom line
Misclassified as kids gear. Pitch it as a family-shareable adult set for households where one or two members are older kids who can handle adult dimensions. If your kid is under 10, the Franklin Forte Youth (US$18) or JOOLA Essentials Dash Single (US$25) is age-correct. If you want one paddle set that works for parents AND their tween-age kid, this is one of the better bundles on Amazon.
